Summertime is almost here, and I, for one, couldn't be more excited! I've already got the deck set up, the string lights hanging, and the grill is poised for its peak season.
With Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and then Labor Day, summer is all about the red, white, and blue here! And since I like to keep my summertime cooking to a minimum to keep my kitchen cool, I always look for no-cook recipes like this one.
This light and creamy recipe is filled with nutritious berries and soft peaks of whipped cream, with bite-sized bits of angel food cake mixed in. It takes just minutes to make, and is so beautiful in our Azure Canning Company jars! I used pint-sized jars to make individual servings. Can you imagine how beautiful the table will look with one at each place setting?
Maybe grab a few red and blue bandanas for napkins, place some tealights around the table, and you've got the perfect dessert for picnics, grill nights, and evenings around the bonfire with your loved ones!
Ingredients:
Azure Canning Company pint jars (NF007)
1-2 pints of Heavy Whipping Cream (DP076)
Sugar (SW079)
Strawberries, sliced
Blueberries
Angel food cake, torn into bite-sized pieces
This is one of those recipes that you just throw together. Grab however many jars you want, and start filling them with fruit! I used strawberries and blueberries, but we also later added blackberries and raspberries, and that was also amazing! Alternate layers of bite-sized chunks of angel food cake and real whipped cream. To make the whipped cream, just dump a quart of heavy whipping cream plus 1/4 cup of sugar into your blender and let it whip that cream until it forms soft peaks! Top with berries, and you're ready to serve.
Enjoy!
